Rose and Addison came to us knowing they wanted a Maine adventure elopement—but with a twist. While they envisioned an intimate experience, they also wanted to share it with 12 of their closest friends and family. Creating a celebration that felt both personal and connected is exactly what we love, and we were thrilled to design a coastal Maine elopement experience tailored just for them.
With our team of three, we combine deep knowledge of Maine’s coastal waters with strong relationships with talented local vendors, allowing us to craft one-of-a-kind boat elopements in Maine. For Rose and Addison, that meant a full day on the water, surrounded by their favorite people and some of the most beautiful scenery Maine has to offer.
To accommodate their guests, we brought in a second boat captained by Chris Grill, who traveled alongside us throughout the day. Once everyone was aboard, we set off toward a quiet cove at Seguin Island—one of our favorite locations for the ceremony.

After mooring in the cove, we rafted the two boats together as we gathered for a heartfelt ceremony led by Marianne. With the ocean surrounding us and their loved ones close by, Rose and Addison exchanged vows in a setting that felt both adventurous and deeply meaningful.
Following the ceremony, we celebrated with a petal toss (always a favorite moment) and a champagne spray that had everyone laughing and fully embracing the moment. We spent some time relaxing in the sun-drenched cove, music playing and waves gently rocking the boats, before heading out for one of the most unique parts of the elopement package—hauling lobster traps for a lobster dinner.

Out on the water, Captain Ethan guided the group through the process of hauling traps, sharing stories about Maine’s lobstering industry, including catch regulations, size requirements, and the importance of protecting egg-bearing females through v-notching. For many of the guests visiting from Kentucky, this was a completely new experience—and one they won’t soon forget. It’s always a highlight of the day: celebrating, learning about and connecting with Maine’s coastal culture all at once.

After hauling, we returned to Seguin Island, where guests were paddled ashore to explore the lighthouse, scenic trails, and sweeping ocean views. While they explored, our crew prepared a traditional Maine lobster bake wedding dinner right on the boat. With fresh lobster (at least two per guest), classic sides like potato salad and chips, drinks, and wedding cake, everything came together for a truly unforgettable meal on the water. After the lobster shells were cracked, we just threw them back in the ocean, making for an easy clean up and bringing it full circle.

As the day came to a close, we made our way back to the mainland at Fort Popham, wrapping up the celebration that perfectly blended adventure, intimacy, and the natural beauty of the Maine coast. It was such a fun and genuine group, and was an honor to be part of their day. Rose and Addison, thank you for trusting Just Banded with your Maine adventure elopement. We’re so grateful to have shared this experience with you!
The most fun people from Kentucky we know! Thanks for being adventurous!
