Ethan DeBery

CAPTAIN

Ethan, your captain and local lobsterman, grew up fishing the waters around Fort Popham. A third generation fisherman, he knows these waters as well as anyone having been casting lines since he was big enough to carry his own tackle box. He spent 2 decades building and operating his own charter business taking locals and tourists in the area on fishing excursions, and started the Seguin Island Ferry, ferrying people out to the historic lighthouse. Over the past few years he has moved his focus to lobstering full time. He is a Master Maine Guide and US Coast Guard 100-ton captain. He loves to talk about the local history and share stories from the area and offers the memorable experience you are looking for that only a genuine local can provide.

Marianne Vold

OFFICIANT

Your story is a unique exciting and beautifully evolving one. I look forward to learning all about you two your shared passions in life and how you met and fell in love. I enjoy savoring the writing process of your ceremony and the joy of celebrating and sharing what is truly ‘you’ with your family and dearest friends — in a way that is all yours. Arctic lessons from growing up in Norway emphasized the lasting value of life partners aligning hearts and efforts in pursuing and discovering all of life’s adventures. With a passport in hand since the age of two I have spent much of my adult life swapping tales with people on all seven continents: from villagers in love in Vietnam’s countryside to an engaged couple stationed at a research station in Antarctica to senior lovers living year‑round on a sailboat in New England. The core of these stories rings the same: happiness in love is a choice and a celebration of everything you know are and want to be with the one who is the family you choose. From short and sweet to long and evolved outside on any elevation to inside by a favored fireplace — your vision IS your ceremony. So let’s get creative and start celebrating I cannot wait to hear from you!

Lindsay DeBery

FLORIST

Growing up on a meadow in Maine Lindsay developed a deep appreciation for the native flora around her. After studying graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design and Native Plants & Ecological Restoration at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens she turned her focus to both landscape design and wedding floral design. Lindsay creates thoughtful seasonally driven arrangements that celebrate Maine’s natural beauty using locally grown blooms from her garden and across the state. When needed she supplements with florals from her trusted New England wholesale partners. She enjoys designing spaces that feel intimate and effortless and loves planning the mechanics of complex installations. You can see more of her work at eldeberyfloral.com

Ruwai Tahuparae

OFFICIANT

Born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand, Ruwai brings warmth, playfulness, depth, and a touch of the sacred to your truly unforgettable lobster-boat wedding.

In 2022, she followed love across the world, marrying her Beloved in a one-of-a-kind Maine celebration of their own—and promptly falling for the trees, fungi, and the good people of her adopted home.

As your marriage celebrant, Ruwai is excited to help you craft the ceremony that makes your hearts sing as one. Drawing on a lifetime of consciously creating through the power of words, her intention is to leave you filled with mana—the Māori understanding of life force, inner strength, dignity, and spiritual sparkle—and to drop a steady anchor for your marriage in meaning, connection, and shared intention.
